Photos of Black Palmwood and Ironwood

Hi all, I want to buy a 505 in either black palmwood or ironwood from the custom knife shop. I have several from there and want to see some photos. Any of them from any knife would be great. Thanks.

I have a black palmwood 112 but there's not much definition in the palm so I'd vote for ironwood.

I'm looking forward to pics too as both woods are ones I look at when building a custom 112. I've seen few pics and would like to know what to expect from Buck.

Is that ironwood from the Buck custom shop? That is fabulous high grade on the 111, the best I've ever seen.

Are they cutting with the grain (rip-cut) like above or against the grain (cross-cut).

This picture was on the Buck website and it looks like it is against the grain but I could be wrong. 119 on the far left.

I believe that palmwood on that 119 is cut with the grain. I have a block of palmwood and the end cut is very tiny black round spots very close together. I will take a picture later.

Oh okay, you may be right. I found these pics online. First is with the grain, second is against (with a measure).

They're cross cutting it. Eds, that 119 looks pretty good but my palmwood has no definition. It's just black. There should still be pics of it in the buck knives for sale.
