Hi all.

The below is a post that I had in the custom section and was given recommendation to move here.

I have struggled with taking photos of my knives for a while now. I had a light box that I had built but still had problems. I concluded that the one I built was too small, so I made a larger one hoping this would help. This seems to me to have made a huge difference. What do you think of these pictures?

Please feel free to comment / critique the knives, but I would appreciate input on the photos also.

Brian,
Those are some very nice looking knives. I think the photos look a little dark and flat. Perhaps they could be boosted with a curves or brightness/contrast adjustment. Maybe a little sharpening and selective burning (I see a bright spot on the blade of the Ironwood knife) and maybe a bit of saturation boost (handle) too.

I like the first photo a lot.
Damascus is hard to do justice to.
Seems a little crowded with the buttonizing though.
Definately get a good feel of how the knife looks.
Great job!

Pretty good results. Both seem a little dark and slightly low in contrast. The second one has a hot spot on the sheath. You could fix that with 30 seconds of Photoshop.

Both knives look great: I especially like the first one.

Seems a little crowded with the buttonizing though.

I agree... perhaps a bit more framing space (less aggressive cropping) all around would help things look less crowded.
