...blade of my upcoming Adam DesRosiers monster knife.

Blade is 12 1/2" X 2 3/16" X almost 3/8". It is pattern welded steel, but you can't tell yet.

You are in luck. Adam is making some awesome choppers that really perform and look good at the same time. His prices are reasonable, delivery is reasonable and he is a great guy. I just got two hunters from him and they are sweet!

Anthony, when I contacted Adam a week or so ago he told me he would be starting my knife right after he finished a couple of hunters. Must have been yours he was talking about.

This one has been delayed a bit, so I can hardly wait to get it.
 
Oh yeah, this is definitelly my kinda knife! Looking forward to the finished product.

The handle will be mammoth ivory. It is going to be hidden tang and made from one piece, not mortised. The mammoth is a combination of light and dark brown that goes right through the piece. The colour is not just on the surface. That way Adam will be able to contour the handle and the colour will not be ground away.

I'm curious Keith, will this be the largest bowie of yours, or do you have any larger?
 
Lookin' good. Can't wait to see the finished product. I picked up a piece last year from Adam that I believe was "yours" - something about it NOT being big enough. Adam makes 1 heck of a knife-enjoy it in good health.

Yep, that one was a paltry 11 1/2" blade. No more of those small knives for me.:p
 
Excuse me, sir. Did you say I have a "small" one.
Seriously, 11 1/8 x 2 x 3/8. My biggest knife to date. But Adam has a remedy for that.:D
 
This looks like it is going to be much too big for one of Keith's avatars :D

There's going to be a huge piece of mammoth ivory for the handle, I really want to see how that turns out!

Some of the big bowies the guys here commission make me want to hide my own very small collection ;)

That knife is simply out of control. :eek:
