Lately I've been carrying a more traditional slip-joint knife in addition to a modern folder with a pocket-clip. Thought it would be interesting to see some of your modern/traditional carry combos...

Anyone else? :)

You should try switching to totally traditional, depending on what you use your knife for, your occupation, etc. You might would be pleasently suprised.

I've tried "modern" and traditional combos before. My prob is that I carry so much dagnab stuff in my pockets that I'm constantly trying to minimize rather than expand my loadout. The upside of carrying both is that you can use the proper knife for the occasion. I sharpened a pencil at the grocery store recently, and the Vic Classic was perfect for the job. Whipping out a CS AK-47 in the cereal aisle might not have been very groovy.

I'm not sure if a Victorinox Explorer or Classic is considered traditional, but I always have one of them on me in addition to a modern folder.

Cold Steel AK-47 and Case Swayback Jack.

ZT 0551 and Case Peanut.

It's slowly going that way, fella! :D I love the look and feel of traditionals and used to only carry slippies. I reckon I'm returning to my roots, but there are a lot of one-handers I've grown fond of as well... *sigh*

You have some nice swag, Powernoodle! And yes, I do consider SAK 'traditional'... might not fly with some of the older fellas on the Traditional Forum, but they are to me :)

That's one knife that I have with me all the time, well I always have my backpack any more and I keep a classic SAK in there.

I'd really like to start carrying one of those Spartan Enyos, or maybe like a Shun paring knife in a kidex. I dunno' what do you guys think about the Izula?

I carry only slipjoints now but the last time I carried a combo it was these two.

Case Pocket Hunter CV and Benchmade 556 Mini Grip.

I head out the door once in awhile with something like this.

By months end I should be able to leave the house with my new Winkler II Utility Knife! Love the curly maple, and the leather covered kydex sheath. Mine will be set up identical to this.

Hi timberweasle -

Here is one pic I could quickly find - this is my "vegas pair", my vic waiter (it will be in every picture of my combo's, as that is what I always carry) and my Benchmade mini-griptilian with STR Low-rider clip.

I love the easy open jack with a modern folder. I can pull it out for tasks around anyone without them feeling uneasy

This is what I'm carrying today. A Spyderco Spur in my right front pocket along with keys and change, a GEC Powderhorn in my left front pocket along with keys, and a Leatherman Juice C2 in a sheath on my belt. I carry the Juice C2 everyday no matter what and have been carrying the Spyderco everyday for some time and plan on carrying it from now on. I've only been carrying the GEC Powderhorn for a couple of days as I just got it but plan on rotating it with other traditional knives on a regular basis.

My Winkler belt knife, with a very old folder, that belong to my grandfather. I’m just recently getting in to traditional knives like this one.

This Vic Waiter gets more pocket time and use than anything else i have but I'm more into modern one handers than anything else these days. I dont really carry that Case Camo lockback very much, it just sits in my desk at work and serves as a loaner for when someone asks to borrow a knife.
