photos too large with new up-grade

I tried loading a pic as I have always done but with the new system it says "photo too large "?

they never were before ?

I am linking to my PB acct as I always have even some of the same pics ?

Looks like signatures are too big too!

...Back on topic...I haven't received any message but I have definitely noticed that a few of my images (from an off-site host) have been downsized from the original size I had originally posted...
...And they were not particularly large to begin with. Strange.

I think the forum software doesn't allow ANY image to show over 800 pixels wide. It resizes them.

ALL my posted landscape photos have been and are 900 wide, and if you open them in a new tab they expand a bit.

800 will disallow the side scrolling that unwitting posters will try to display. It does limit the screen real estate.

I would MUCH rather the upper limit be set to 1024-wide. There is no one using a screen resolution this low anyhow. Plus the images load the same filesize, only visual reduction.

Coop, thanks for explaining what's going on. I was kind of wondering why some of my images remained intact while others (which hadn't been very large to begin with) were being resized.
I'm sure that's what David is experiencing as well.
