What is the best size and type of piano wire to use for a folder spring? Also, where can I get it? Thanks! Michael

I use .029 wire from WW Grainger, They sell it in a coil that would make springs for half the knives in texas at a cost under$25.

Neat trick George, I'll try it!! Thanks Pete! I would have figured I would need thicker wire. Does it come hardened or annealed? I bought some at Ace Hardware, and got the results I mentioned in the first post. Take care! Michael

I made the assumption that you were talking about coil springs (that is what I use) leaf springs from piano wire i have not tried.
