I apologize for incorrectly spelling Blade-Tech on the topic. :o

Who is making this one Dennis? Does Blade-Tech actually manufacture or is it being made by someone else. Single or dual liners? I have a big ole soft spot myself for the Wegner!

I absolutely love this - especially now that it's in S30V!:D when are they slotted to be released? I too would like to know who's making them, who's doing the heat-treat etc. I would like the version in G10, yes!

BTW, something related - anyone have pics of the Mouse II in G10/carbon fibre?

Odd hole :(. It will not work for me :(. Otherwise I like the new straighter handle better than the old.

That is an impressive set of specs for a nice knife that lots of folks adore.

For some reason, I think the opening hole will work just fine. I had apprehensions about the Mayo round-ended slot, for instance, but it was unfounded. In fact, I think Mayo's slot is better than a round hole due to certain mechanics of motion. So I have a good feeling about the V, without even trying it.

I, too, am interested in the liners. If they are double, this only adds to what is becoming a "must get one" scenario.

Trouble is, I don't know which one to pony up for first - this one, or the Mouse!

One more thing - seeing the folder in the closed position and knowing that the clip is moveable as mentioned previously, this is about as ambi a folder as you can get. No problem accessing the opening hole easily and successfully, from either hand.

Blade-tech has invested in equipment and will be producing these knives in house. I hope and believe we will see more designs from Blade-Tech.

I know it has the nested liner like the Military. I do not know if it is single or dual liners though.

Blade-Tech is shooting for a release date of March, right around the corner. They will have examples at the SHOT show for people to see.

I like the refinements to the design. Adding a choil and extra grip
serrations to the choil and blade spine should improve an already awesome knife. I also think being drilled and tapped for tip up or down, left or right side is a nice touch.

p.s. Thank you Blues for fixing my typo.

All this discussion was too much for me.

With some luck, my G-10 Pro-Hunter should be here TOMORROW!

I can't wait to see what your initial impression is.

edited to add a picture of the carbon fiber version

Aloha, fellas...

Saw shootist16's post on another forum. Really like the Spyderco Wegner which was my EDC until it was discontinued. Then I saw the pics from shootist16......had to get one (actually, two).

The Blade-Tech Wegner is lighter and actually smoother...minor mods make a big difference. Received my knives about a week or so ago...everything I hoped and more. Does a number in the kitchen and really works well out in the field. Extremely pleased. .:D

Well done Tim!!!

Think I'll have to get a carbon fiber one for those dress occasions.

I have a spyder large wegner on me right now.

It's there until I get the Tarani Karambit in next week which will be the EDC along with the LaGriffe neck knife.

I put the LCC and Socom away which I was carrying lately and just stuck this in my pocket until I can carry what I want again next week.

I like the knife quite a bit. I had met Wegner at the National Tactical Invitational years ago where he had a table set up. Very nice person to speak to and of course he makes some very nice Kydex equipment.

The Wegner gets set aside as well when the kerambit arrives as spyderco has stopped their run of these as well.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of the Spyderco Wegner. However, as Dexter Ewing said the Blade-tech version makes the Spyderco version seem a bit crude. Not meaning that as an insult to Spyderco because that knife rocks. It's just that the Blade-tech version is that much better.
