Went on a short day hike with my special lady friend, Jessica, and our Lab-Mix pup, Ellie, around the "lake" at Wall Doxey State Park in Mississippi - not too far from Red Banks. We live in Memphis, but Wall Doxey is only about 45 minutes away. It was a great day. Besides one older man fishing, we were the ONLY ones out there.

This was my first outing while rocking my North Face shell. I REALLY like the zip vents in the armpits!! I started off with one of my favorite hats, my worn-out TAG hat...

Rain boots really made the whole trip alot more enjoyable - it had rained out there for the last couple days - maybe that's why we were alone...

You can see where the rain was running down into the lake...

This is where the lake spills into the lower lying area - I'm sure this has a name, but I don't know what it's called...

I told my girl that I would really dig falling asleep to the noise of the running/falling water...

Basic 11 with a red 550 lanyard - I read a post awhile back about this dude losing one of his very expensive knives out in the forest  and I immediately put a red lanyard on most of the knives I take out in the bush...

I carry this bad boy in a baldric rig pieced together from a Maxpedition strap, a large D-Ring, and a Buy Brown dangler set up sheath - model showing strong side carry... ;)

Weak side carry - this is usually where it's at as I like to keep my right hand unobstructed to make it easier to get to whatever I may need to get to...

Thank you for sharing our day with us!! :)

Great Pics Bro!!! Looks like y'all had fun. Sometimes those quite rainy day walks are the best.

Thanks to Jessica for modeling!

Like that baldric, those are a good way to carry a big blade.

Great pics. I've always thought baldric rigs were such a great way to carry larger knives, especially when you've got other gear around your waist like a handgun. Very versitile.

Looks like a great place for a hike . Especially with the good company you had . great pics !
