Anybody have some good pics of the clip point / swedge grind on the new 2008 SE FBMs? :confused:
Is it sharpened, false sharpened, or just beveled? :confused:

Also curious about how thick this beast is... .250" ... .270"?

Any help would be great, and any and all pics are welcome... after all, she is a BEAUTY!!!! :)

it is sharpened, but it's not very sharp because it's at a very obtuse angle......

it's exactly .25" thick......

Those FBMSE08 are very nice and lightweight with some superb edge geometry. Others may like them fat but I like them just the way they are...:thumbup: That would be my first choice as a user if I didn't have my FABM.

I like the fact that they are 1/4" full height grind... :thumbup:
Just not sure about the sharpened swedge. :o

And I have the feeling that if I request one in the ganza,
but ask for the swedge to be beveled only...
well... that I just won't score one. :rolleyes:

My 2 seem to be .27" thick at the spine... No variation between them as to the thickness. Sharpened clip, nice and sharp for the angle. The main edge is very sharp. I got lightly bitten while setting this one up for pix! :D:thumbup::thumbup: ...Guess it stays!!! LOL

if jaxx says they are .27" thick, i will take his word for it over my own.....i used a ruler and i've heard that rulers are really not that accurate when measuring blade thickness....

If it's a user...
a sharpened swedge chews up a baton real quick.

If it's a collector piece... I don't really care.

LOL, because of what you wrote, I used 2 cheapo rulers! :D ...But got the same measurement from both. I just wanted to make sure before saying anything different. :)

Yep, Li'l Foo, the FSH's are the same, +/- a very tiny bit. :thumbup:

...Hey, I'd ask about the beveled clip... Worst he'll say is NO, right? I'll bet (but don't actually know that) it's easier to bevel the top than to sharpen it. :thumbup: He may not have them all done yet, or have a few extra's around ready to grind... :) Personally, I think that there's enough of a 2nd scallop to use for batonning w/o worrying about the sharpened area... But we all got different opinions, yes?? :thumbup:

The funny thing about that SHBM is that I ordered it to be a user.
Part of me knew that I should have ordered two of them. :o
