BEAUTIFUL! Did you build this one? Give us details, specs, cost, etc.

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way!

Chris, that's a great first effort. Far, far better than mine. I butchered the blade so badly on my first knife, I ended up turning the blade into a stick tang, then grinding what had been the tang into a skinning blade. It was not a pretty sight. Congratulations.

Great job Chris. Much better than my first also. I surely did not attempt a guard until later. I am sure that you are proud of your baby. Hang on to it, because it is fun to compare it to your later knives.

thanks tangus, yeah i made it myself! I got the d2 for the blade from the dearborn tool & die plant (where i work) so that was free(ditto for heat treat), the peice of stainless for the guard came from the dearborn glass plant, i picked up the copper tubing and brass rod for the guard pins and the copper and brass sheet for the liners at the dearborn frame plant. i had to pay for the dymondwood scales and loveless rivets for the handle though. all and all i guess i only have about 6 or 7 bucks wraped up in it. the bad thing is i dont have a shop at home so 99% of the work had to be done at work at lunch time. so it took a few months to make. in a way though that makes it sort of unique because it was made at the historic ford rouge plant in dearborn ,mi. anyway thanks for asking, i've been dieing to tell somebodyin bladeforums about it.

p.s. i did also pay for the lovless/barney how to make knives book. that was worth every penny then some!!!
