I'm definitely impressed --- especially given that it's your first knife AND the limited tools. Great job!

Clint,

Your first knife is a real fine piece and certainly a uniquely fabricated one. Very sleek and flowing lines on that one.

Nice Job

That's a dandy. The CF is way cool! The knife is a very functional looking "Spike" design. A well made horizontal leather sheath and it be perfect IMO.... Well done!:D:thumbup:

:)

Good for you - that's excellent for a first knife.

The handles extend a little far at the top of the blade and they look like they would inhibit cutting ability [not sure how long the blade is].

Did you heat treat the steel?

the handles do inhibit the cutting ability a little bit.the whole knife is 6 3/4 in and the blade is 3 in long.i atempted to heat treat the blade.the only thing i have is a set of welding tanks at work.i heated the blade untill it almost started to change color but not to glowing and then quenched it in oil.i repeated this 3 times.since im a newby i have no idea what im doing hahh but it seems to hold an edge ok and sharpens up nice.thanks. clint.
