Got this Rodgers about a year ago (Joseph Rodgers I believe, though it only says Rodgers on the blade), just took a picture today, sorry I can see I put an ugly fingerprint on the main blade.

Modeling it on your straw Stetson!!! I like that a lot!!!
Up here in the Dakotas you just ain't a knife guy nor a sixgunner if you don't wear a Stetson. We put away the summer straw hats when the weather cools down---usually by the end of September but much later this year--- and get out the felt Stetsons.

You will probably not like this but I have to tell the truth, the hat is made in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico, a traditional hat producing town in Mexico since colonial times. Yes you can buy them in the USA under the Stetson name (or Resistol) and pay maybe two or three times as much as over here. It´s funny how economics works, the Bangora straw (also Shantung, etc.) is brought to Mexico from the Orient, hand woven over here (talented yet inexpensive labor) and sent to the USA.

I do have a felt hat (this one made in USA) a bit more on the modern side (crushable Aussie style), not worn much since it doesn´t get that cold over here.

That really is a great looking knife! I like the hat too :).

Cool knife Don. Have you ever looked into Stan Shaw knives? You might enjoy them too.

You may want to have a look at taylor eye witness stuff. It's a bit different to the Egginton stuff. It is a Joseph Rodgers. I don't see much William Rodgers stuff about.
If you want really nice stuff Stan or the limited IXL stuff is they way to go. It's out of my price range though

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Stan Shaw is way above my budget, nice traditional Sheffield knives.

I have two William Rodgers fixed blades from the mid 70´s, a full tang Bowie with hard rubber scales and a skinner hidden tang with what seems like bone simulating stag, the handle a bit loose.

We don´t get to see many fancy knives in Mexico and prices are higher than in USA. There´s a nice IXL Barlow in the window of a local tobacco shop that I have resisted to buy for over a year, perhaps if it doesn´t sell they will mark it down or maybe will give me a special price as a frequent customer since I often buy cigars from them.
