Just made a pic of the New Spyderco "R" for a dealer.

Folks I LOVE THIS KNIFE!

Unlike the "Q" the "R" is all metal!
It is the size of an Endura and has a metal clip on the reverse end which is my favorite spot!

Sal THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I've had my plain edge R for a couple of weeks now.I'm a collector of the Q's so the R is a natural evolution for me. It is really sharp,However it doesn't work well with peanut butter sandwich making.

I just showed the knife to 3 of my non-knife likeing friends and they all love it!! They even want one! This knife is awsome. Imagine taking it out of your pocket to cut open a box, the guy next to you would go, "wow, what's that?", instead of running away in fear.

As always with Spydies the R have been available over here in Sweden for a loooooong time. Just had to tell ya. Make you a little jealous. How about the Zowada? Is it out yet in the US?

Johnny,
The "R" is very limited production, so you'll have to snag one while you can. Pelle, it kills me that you guys get the new stuff before we do!! Good for you, bummer for us, eh! The Zowada isn't out in full production yet, that I've seen. Neither is the JD Smith, Shabaria, or Starmate. Supposedly, the Starmate will be out in full force by the end of August. Some of the limited knives can be purchased through the Spyderco factory store, but they're not in the regular dealer's hands in numbers yet.

Honey, I swear that's the last knife I'm going to buy...

I am at home, so can't be absolutely positive, but I believe the MSRP on the "R" is $159.95

We´ve had the Zowada for several months now and the Starmate for at least one. The only problem is our taxes. Makes the knifes 30-50% more expensive than in the US. Some times the price is up by 100%.

The "R" is available and in stock.

Pelle,
You've had the Zowada model for several months? Am I missing something? I didn't even think that model had been released yet. What's the story?
Paul

I was surprised myself to find a Zowada in the local huntingshop. I can´t remember exactly, but It must have been in march or april. The woman(!) running the Spyderco import must have some special connection...
It (Zowada) was smaller than I had expected. Price was (if I remember correctly) in the vincinity of 1700 swedish Kronor. That´s approx. $200. The "R" and Starmate costs 1550 kronor ($182). I have not seen the Shabaria or Smith yet.
