Made some pics for Mike Gallagher of ABC-Direct. This is the extremely rare #9. Just thought you guys would love to see it! I think Ernie said he only made 11 or so.

I believe Les had one at the Sharp show a few years back. Interesting, but not my favorite Emerson. I see where the Commander handle came from.

Thanks for the Pic.

That's the one I was thinking of in the "next for production" thread - it was also called the "Eagle." I guess if Emerson only made 11 or so, there isn't much chance of seeing a version "for the masses."

It was billed as a tool and defensive implement for LEOS, I recall. Looks like it would fit the bill really well. I always remember this knife because it's one of only a handful that seem to have followed (IMO excellent) reasoning similar to the Civilian in a defensive knife. It's a shame these weren't more popular.

Nice pic.I just bought Rennie's CQC9,so we know where 2 of the 11 are.Anyone else out there have one ? I will post my opinions of it when it arrives.

I handled one a couple of years ago and it was exquisite like all of Emerson's handmades. Tattoo, I'm excited to hear what you think of it. What's the going rate these days if you do not mind? (e-mail me- I may be getting one of his custom fixed blades soon).

Farid's MPF is similar. Except for the one thing you can't really see about Farid's knives in the add, his knives are BIG. They are very thick and large in almost evry dimension. If you want a BIG folder that won't get lost in your pocket. Farid is the way to go. His knives were meant to be used hard.

In my opinion, the 9 is deceptive. When you hold it, you initially think you have a large folder in your hand. It really isn't very large. It is a medium sized folder. Which is so much nicer to carry.

Farid has totally ripped off Ernest with pretty much all of his knives both fixed and folding. He has also ripped off Mad Dog as well. This is well known to both makers. There has been much said behind the scenes so to speak about this but I cannot divulge all of the gory details here.
Apparently, copyrights don't mean much across the seas.

Ripped off Reeve too. I handled his knives and they were not too smooth on opening and they were just way to big to be really comfortable or useful for me.

I guess that explains any similarity between the knives. I never really looked closely at all of Farid's stuff. I just played with the MPF.
