And a couple of questions please! My dad just got the caly 3- nice knife but I wonder if the handle is longer on the 3.5? Also, with the endura, where they all full flat grind? Think I like the thicker blade on my other endura.

Thanks all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hmmmm, maybe I was too picky with my request- hows about a regular endura and caly 3.5? :)

Any thought on these 2 blades are welcome too!

I'd love to help, but I don't have a Caly 3.5 (yet). The handle is longer on the 3.5 than on the 3 if that is what you are asking. I believe the handle is a bit shorter on the Caly 3.5 than on the Endura. The G-10 Endura was full flat grind for the duration of production, and that configuation has now been extended to the FRN version as well. At least one person I recall swapped a blade from a ZDP-189/FRN Endura with the blade of a G-10 version to get the heavy blade in the heavier handle and ended up liking the FFG/FRN version better than what he was after.

Don't have the G-10 Endura, but the FRN one is the same size. Threw in a Caly 3 as well.

Deacon's pic has you covered there and looks much better than mine, but just for fun - also with Caly 3 included -

hmmmm...a classic case of- I want them all! ha ha haa! (this is RPN- just on my dad's computer)

Thanks guys- very telling. I really love the blade shape on the endura...the 3.5 is pretty great size overall too...

I would have thought the endura in g10 with the beffier blade would have been bad a**!

If you have a chance to get one, I'd nab an Endura G-10 asap...it's been discontinued for months, and if you want it, you should get it soon. I just got a Caly 3.5 last week, and it is a thing of beauty--instantly makes my top 5 folders list easily, maybe top 3. If I were recommending one of the 2 knives just on its merits, that would be it easily. However, you will probably be able to buy a brand new Caly 3.5 for at least the next year if not several years. The endura G-10, not so much. Of course my answer presupposes wil eventually get them both :D

Now this is probably a weak question, but which of the two do you guys see as sturdier? I just got the Gayle Bradley and was wondering about a smaller, lighter weight "hard use" folder". When i saw the endura with beefier liners- I figured that was it. But, with the FFG, I doubted it and wondered about the caly...

not hard users imo, both are AWESOME slicers, esp the caly(endura would be better suited though, blade isnt as thin). Not sure, but Id think a leafstorm or sage 2 may be a better choice for hard use.

Just go for Para. I think Sage is too slick (Ti) for hard user, besides the blade is basically the same thickness and grind as a Caly.

Size wise the para 2 is still a step up, no?

Maybe I'll just bag the older endura and call it done!

Add: I ordered the endura with the black blade...serrated although I'm not too into serrations...think i just needed something...tacti-cool! ;) :)
