Pic request : CG BOSS Jack striped

I stripped one. Here is the original thread:

Stripped - B11, DSSF, CGBJ, RMD, HRLM, RS

There were no dimples but there was something / coloration under the coating that the stripper did not remove. It looked similar to a Gun Blue color but I don't know what it was. I had to to quite a bit of hand sanding to remove it.

After a lot of hand sanding. I am not done yet.

Wow - yours stripped really clean. I wonder why mine was so different?

Well the photos on page two of the first link are the only shots of it stripped prior to any polishing. The second link with the bow is after much, much sanding and polishing. Still, I was surprised how shiny it was after stripping it.

Good job!
Naked Infi can have many various patterns. Personaly I prefer when the surface is rough with dimples like on my SARsquatch:

I was hoping that it would be the same on the Boss Jack, but it's clean.

Many thanks!

That is my favorite finish. Some makers are trying to get their knives to have that look. Stripped raw INFI rules.

Do we have any other examples of a coated blade that also has a zero edge convex grind underneath? Didn't Jerry recently say he found a way to do this without the need for a slight V grind after its coated? My point is: Maybe the CG BJs are so dimple free because it takes a lot of grinding to accomplish a full zero edge convex. By nature of the grind, the whole blade gets finished.
