I am still trying to decide if I will like the Hogue EX-01, reviews have been very positive, but I prefer thinner/lighter folders and I am a little worried it will be too thick for my tastes. I am specifically looking at the Aluminum 3.5in. version.

A picture of knife showing handle/blade thickness next to a

Kershaw Blur
Spyderco Delica
Griptilian
BM 710
or
Sage 1

would be most helpful.

BTW: I am also looking at getting a mini bone collector as well, so if you have any pics of that models thickness I would love to see them. Also, if you have both and prefer one or the other, speak up, I could use all the help I can get.
Riding the fence about this is really starting make my "you know whats" hurt:eek::D.

OK, so can anyone tell me how thick it is compared to one of the above knives then? I just want to know how chunky it is before I pull the trigger.

Right now I am on the fence between a mini Bone Collector and the small aluminum EX-01, any thoughts on this? Is the aluminum or G-10 model of EX-01 thinner?

I can semi-help but not with all the knives you mentioned. In this link:

I'm a HUGE fan of the Hogues and have carried the 4" and 3.5" for several weeks straight now :) The G-Mascus models are a tad lighter than the aluminum. I don't own an aluminum model buit some have said they are better balanced. Doesn't matter to me. I like the G-Mascus and don't plan on getting the aluminum at this time.

Go down for the pictures that may help you. The Hogues taper down in thickness toward the heel a little bit.

sorry i dont have any pics, but it does carry well compared to some of the other knives you mentioned. i have the 3.5 aluminum one, and its not really that heavy.

I have the 3.5 in drop point aluminum and the 3.5 in g-mascus tanto, also a 4" in drop point in g-mascus. I honestly think the aluminum version is the smoothest of the three. All three are awesome and very smooth, but the aluminum is best for me. I want to pick up a 4" tanto also in aluminum to round out the collection. The od green is a very cool color as well.

I say give one a try and I don't think you could be disappointed either way with whichever version you go with. They are also very addictive to play with, the button lock is super sweet!
