As the title describes, anybody who owns a Manix XL and a Military, and who can provide some comparison pics of the 2?

You're a champ

Thanks!

ETA: Any chance of a spineshot of the 2? How big is the difference in terms of thickness?

It is not that noticeable (3mm manix vs 4mm milie) due to the grind.

Here is a pic of the manix XL 3mm vs the original manix 4mm

Which one do you prefer, the military or manix xl?

Although you weren't asking me, I much prefer the military over the manix xl. The military fits better in my pocket, and feels better in my hand. Also, the caged ball lock is harder to use than the liner lock IMO.
I like the manix xl, but the military is a classic!

Any input is appreciated, so feel free to join the discussion!

Is there any noticeable difference in handle thickness between the 2? I can imagine the manix xl being thicker because of the full-length liners, correct?

I agree with the linerlock being easy to use, but i had a bad experience with the lock on a second-hand millie, which kinda put me off the militarys linerlock. But im also aware, that i probably got a lemon, because thousands of satisfied military owners cant be wrong. It truly IS a great design. But the Manix also looks like a great design. Choices, choices...

The manix xl is noticeably taller, from the blade spine to the bottom of the handle when closed. Because of this it fits better in my pockets.
As far as thickness of the handle, as far as the G10 and liners, I think they are about the same.

The 2 are close in thickness. The manix xl is thicker by the height of one of the G10 scales.

You definitely got a lemon. The milie in the pics is 10+ years and was bought used then I carried it 2 years and lock up is solid with no play. Also the liner has not moved since I bought it at just shy of 50%.
