I am trying to compare these two blades, I have a NMFBM X 2 but I need to see just how much bigger the MOAB is, for me the NMFBM is perfect but you never know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a pic I stole off of bobbystone :o

Mmmm...snakeskin...

There really is nothing like a MOAB.

Must be held to really appreciate its greatness.

While I don't have a NMFBM, I do have a regular FBM, so you will get the idea. Here it is with the MOAB...

The specs as far as I know are 14.25" blade, .4" - .41" thick.

That pic really shows the length difference between the two! Great pic(s) - (& specs pic)! The difference in length is more than I pictured; albeit the NMFBM has an inch extra on the FBM.

The pic M67 stole from bobbystone (and Rob's pic) has me wanting a MOAB in a bad way!!!

I thought the NMFBM had two inches on the FBM.

What is the MOAB considered? Sword? Knife? Too slow for a zombie killer. I think we need to make a new category of blade.

I think when I get the money, in four or five years when I hope the economy turns around, I will order one in .25 inch stock, this would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a heavy chopper. It's a category of knife that's to heavy for machete work, so it's used to clear thicker branches, split wood and chop small tree's. It's basically a replacement axe. The benefit over an axe being that it requires less accuracy, it can clear multiple branches at the same time, and it can be used for push/pull cutting. Another advantage over a hatchet being that you are far less likely to have a miss that strikes you in the face from ricochete.

I thought the FBM came with a 9.5 inch blade or am I wrong, the NMFBM has a 11.5 inch blade so being I was educated in East Tennessee my math may be off 9.5 plus 2 equals 11.5? again if I am wrong on the FBM blade length please let me know or am I wrong on the NMFBM because the two NMFBM I have show about 11.5 inch blades.
