I saw a modified socp dagger in a thread, but my memory and google fu are too weak to relocate it. I search was fruitless despite nearly an hour of looking. I just got an SOCP with the intention of making it into something similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope it wasn't mine, it's pretty ugly :p

I love that thing, can i get a few more pics from the side? To see what you did to the tang to mount the scales?

I'm at work right now, but I'll try to get some side pics when I get home. Long story short, I ground the finger grooves down to the width I wanted them, made slightly oversized "micarta" scales out of an old cotton T-shirt and fiberglass resin, soaked the whole thing in epoxy, and sanded down to final size. The voids between the handle scales and scallops in the original handle are just filled with epoxy. In the pic I posted the shiny parts in the side of the handle are the exposed metal of the tang, and the dark parts are the epoxy.

The goals of the project were:

A. Give me something to do, and

B. Make a Texas legal, usable neck knife out of the absurdly useless and impractical SOCP.

Awesome! thank you. Its my project for this weeked. Did you just epoxy them on? no hidden pins or anything?

Just epoxy. Pins would have been problematic with my limited tools, given the shape of the tang. The hardest part was getting the damn blade coating off, honestly. Though making the handle material did take a while.
