Ok, I've looked and looked, and I can't find a direct photo comparison of the recent NMFSH with a NMFBM. :o There was a picture close to what I'm looking for posted from Blade 2012, but that's it. Can any of you Hogs help a brother out? I'd love it if they were both double-cut, but CG would be fine. I understand the NMFBM is 2" longer, has a 1/8" wider blade (edge to spine), and is slightly less thick, but pics would be so much more helpful! TIA.

If no one else gets in today I will try and snap one off for you tonight, don't have my usual working lens at home just now (it is with Nikon aafter me the camera and rifle all came sailing off the motorcycle out bush) but I am sure I can get you something.

Andy, I appreciate that! Also, as gixxer asked, did you tell us about that yet? Sounds like it was bad!

Hope you're OK!

I am not sure my pride allowed me to further that tale beyong "I fell off" :D :D No great hard done and I didn't find the damage to the camera (it was in a padded case, in a butt pack attached to the front rack on the bike) till a day or so later. I will admit to that period of time right after the "incident" where I lay there figuring oout if all my parts were still functional and if anything was about to start hurting "badly" .... just some bruises and that was about it... well...it did take me some time to get the bike back on two wheels as it was on a steep hill and the bike was facing down the hill...!!!

Here are a few

Well that made my decision clear. Yes now I must look for a NMFBM. Might pick one up at bladeshow if I can still swing that this year. Thank you for the pics!

Awesome FTR!!! That is EXACTLY what I was looking for!

I think I agree with Zymologist; I still need to get a NMFBM!

Great comparison pics! Both are beautiful blades. I'm glad I snagged a NMFBM the other day. I'm wondering how the coating was removed off of the BM? I was told by another member to use Klean Strip which I may try. I'm just wondering the technique used on the one pictured. Any info would be appreciated.

The NMFBM coincidently received from dericdesmond started off Moss Green. Thanks Eric. I used Klean Strip to remove the coating to find a near perfect slab of INFI.
Thanks again.
I ran it on the HF 1x30 with the Scotch Brite belts and it came out nice. It has been pounded silly and still looks good.
Both blades have Strike Hold CLP on them so they may appear a little hazy.

Thanks for the confirmation on Klean Strip! That sounds like the way to go. Hopefully I've got the nards to do it. :)
Just curious, do the belts come in different colors? If so what color should be used?

Brown is coarse
Red is Medium
Green is fine
When I got them they were too thick, the machine would not spin them so I turned them inside out, put a 50 grit belt on the sander and ground off the extra material on the inside. It took about ten minutes. Now they work great. I can take a Satin blade with Kydex scratches all beat up and pass it over the belts and it looks brand spankin new, like it just came from Busse.

Thanks for that tip!!! Excellent!!! I was just wondering how you got your Scotch Brite belts to work on the 1x30 HF due to their thickness (I've had the same problem), and when I refreshed the page, there was the answer! :D I had thought about grinding the table out a little bit, but I like your idea better.

Glad FTR got the pics up for you as I was unable to do much last night.

I have two NMFBMs and really like them both. They are different versions of the same concept .... this one was a CG that was stripped and satined and used by the previous owner, just because, I sent it in to Busse and had the satin finish renewed... looks sweet.....

My other is a jungle green CG with hand shaped grips, different look, different in hand but sweet as well....

Awesome info!! Thank you sir!
