I've been debating about picking one up but the blade looks like it could easily nip the index finger.
Anyone have pics in hand and/or thoughts on this?

I have one, and I think it would be pretty hard for your finger to roll over onto the blade. If no one else gets you a picture, I will try and take one later tonight.

Here's a couple for you. I don't see any issues with getting nicked, I've got several blades with the same shape and never had a problem.

It really is as safe as most non-Busse knives we typically use in a day. It's just that we all are so Busse-ified that we're used to a choil and front-talon-hole to slow down our fingers shoudl they start sliding fwd when using the knife.

I'd probably not use it to repeatedly stab into a feral hog, but otherwise most duties are performed perfectly safe. There's significant steel between finger and edge as seen in teh pix above.

Thanks!
Helps to see one in hand before taking the plunge!

Hey Mike, picture 3 shows your growing a knife in your garden! Looks like a SR!
