Hi Gents

Looking at AD's and know there are a few variations. What would you recommend and does anyone have a side by side (especially spine thickness) of AD (sage/black micarta milli in particular)

Thanks in advance

Here is one under a muddy....

Thanks mate !! Which one is thicker. I'm wondering if the milli is much thicker and therefore not as efficient slicer as say the original AD's or BAD (think they are much thinner though)

Just about all of them make great slicers. These are all .170 I believe...

The bottom one lives in Italy now.

Any more - particular the sage and black milli!

Side by sides of spine would be great!

How's this :D

Notice the distal taper starts sooner on the HD and CS AD then on the Milli's, another slight difference.

nice - what is that top one !!

That one (Phil's) is a .170 Black G-10/DC sold at a ganza a while back.
All of his in pic are .170, as are the 2007 SE, and custom AD's that have came out in past year(well, there were a few CS's from the BAD .125 frame at Blade).

All originals are .150 saber, and are the sweetest and hardest to find.

The .195 to .199 milliganzas and the ones that followed them at the BCS are very easy to find at a Great price. If you don't want one this heavy a .170 flat ground can still be found at a good price as well. They slice about as well as the .150 sabers since they are all flat ground and have similar edge thickness.

The HD prices have came down just a bit since the millies came out. Not much diff in them(tiny bit thicker) except the smaller talon whole on the HD's. And the diff saber grind as Jimmy mentioned.

As for me, I much prefer the .150 sabers and the .170 flat ground AD's.

thanks for pics and info lads!

How hard would it be to trade a milli for something skinnier?

nice - what is that top one !!

Top one is Black G-10 with a Double Cut finish, second one is a Custom Shop number I snagged at Blade '07 w/ Satin, and the bottom one is Green G-10 with Satin...

LOL, I'm probably not the one to answer that one.

Tomatoes yes, car doors no, for a steak it's a toss up.

I'm a sharpened pry bar guy, the right tool for the job is the one in my hand , I carry a folder for slicing.
