Can one of you fine members here post up a comparison pic of the Becker 13 Remora and the BK11 Necker? Preferably with unwrapped handles.

I did find this pic with wrapped handles, but generally my handles will be plain.

Once I give my son his Remora when he bridges (to Boy Scouts), we'll probably wrap that handle and do some lanyard/fob work, but mine will stay pretty 'plain-jane', so to speak. My son gets the Remora for sure, but I haven't decided what to get myself first, the Remora or the Necker.

Thanks!

Here ya go buddy.

I love my 13. I think you can't go wrong with that one for you and your son, but the necker has its advantages also. So you might just want to get both for yourself along with the 13 for your son. :D

Thanks! That's perfect for what I needed to know. Allows a thickness comparison, too.

Now, if you'll just send them both to me, so I can do a side-by-side comparison . . . just kidding. :p (I can't imagine any member here going without their Beckers for any length of time. The withdrawals would be terrible.) I think I'll definitely go with the Necker first, then the Remora later.

LOL.... I'd be ok with sending you the 11 for a while but I don't think I'd last long without my 13. :) I do have the 14 to hold me over, but it's just not the same.

Either way you go, though, I think you'll be happy with 'em. :D

I've got to pick up a 13 made in America. Maybe when I order some micarta soon.
I have two of the Chinese protos, but I'm not sure the heat treat is as good.

I love my 13. Never leave home without it. :D It is an American made one. I tell ya it's a great little knife. You can do a lot with 'em; a lot more than you would think because it's such a small knife. Probably the greatest little knife in the world :thumbup:

How do you compare the edge retaining quality compared to
the 1095 cm?

I don't think that it is exactly the same, but I do think it's pretty close. I think they are rated about the same on the hardness scale also, so that might have something to do with it. But I'm no pro at these things. I'm sure there is someone else around here who could tell ya better than me. I just really like the AUS8 steel and the 1095

I've got this American made 13 and I also have a Taiwan made AUS8 CS TiLite. I think that both are awesome steels, but for $20 for the BK13 it is THE BEST value IMO for any knife that great!!!
