Trying to decide on one FBM variant. Right now the top three contenders are the NMFBM, FFBM, FBM with mags. I'd like some input from those who have used them all. Which one would you go with and why.

Out of those, the NMFBM. Best chopper, and has fantastic handle scales. Then the FFBM, and last the FBM. Some people will prefer the FBM because it's lightest of those three, but I don't. The FBM is still darn large and heavy and very poor at any small work, so in my view, if you're going to carry a knife like that, it's going to be for chopping and things like this, and for that type of use, the FFBM and NMFBM are better, with the NMFBM being the best.

I agree with Elen, if you are going to buy a knife like that you are most likely going to be using it for chopping and batoning and such and the best knife for those tasks is defenitly the NMFBM. and if your going camping or hiking you are most likely to have a smaller fixed blade on your belt or in your pack also to take care of the lighter tasks.
But thats just my opinion!!

I had a FFBM user with mags for a while. I liked it but would have liked slightly thinner scales. Have a NMFBM that I haven't used yet. For those in the know which is the better chopper the NMFBM or the FFBM?

Thanks,

GregB
