Hey everyone, I want a new BM. I have a 300-1 and a 556. I prefer blade length as close to 3" as possible, no bigger than 3.5". I like flippers, but not necessary. I kind of like the looks of the Nakamura. I want the best bang for my buck. What would you recommend?

Best bang for your buck? H&K 14716. Benchmade I would pick in that size range? The Shinola Valet with wood scales. Slim, light, classy gent's folder that will get a hell of a lot of work done.

Those Valets are nice! How easy does the D2 rust on the HK?

Let me give you a higher end price model for consideration, the new 940 Amicus. It's pricey for sure, (more so than the Nakamura based on current BHQ prices) but I'm just trying to give you another opinion/option. Please consider the following:

<3.5" blade? Check, 3.2" inch. The shape of the blade is also exemplary, with a huge belly reminiscent of many Spyderco blades.

Flipper? One of the smoothest and easiest to deploy you'll find.

Nakamura looks? Same black and silver scheme, but more sleek and with a great deep carry clip that is much better than the abomination BM calls the "Double Arrow" clip.

Worried about rust? Don't. The Amicus has CPM S90V steel, largely considered to be superior to D2 in most ways.

Like I said, this is just another option for you, considering you didn't list a price range. It's been a great bang for my buck, but that varies for everyone
