I thought I'd start a thread to make some conversation and to see how my fellow knife nuts choose their blades . I'm going to list knives in pairs of two and I just want to know which one you'd choose based on usability , comfort or what ever and why you made your choice .

1) Busse Game Warden vs Busse SAR 3

2) Swamp Rat Rodent Solution vs Busse Active Duty

3) Swamp Rat Ratmandu vs Busse BATAC

4) Busse ASH1 vs Swamp Rat Ratweiler

5) Scrapyard Dog Father vs Swamp Rat Rat Mastiff

Let the picking begin !

I prefer the handles of the game wardens.
Active duty feels better in the hand also.
Ash1 also feels better in hand.

Let the picking begin !

1) game warden. Sar3, although awesome, is less comfy in my big hands
2) rodent solution
3)ratmandu. Less oal : cutting edge ratio.
4)ash1 due to the dislike my hands have for the rstweiler handle. Just couldn't find a comfy grip with it.
5)dogcatcher. See above. Also, I like through hardened blades. Being able to sharpen down to a nub has its benefits.

YMMV However.

1) Have no experience with either but would go with the Game Warden because I like the looks more.

2) Have no experience with either but would go with the Rodent Solution because I like the looks more, although, INFI...

3) Ratmandu, it's an awesome knife. Very versatile, functional and comfortable. Also available in INFI. Not really a fan of the BATAC proportions.

4) Haven't used a Ratweiler but have owned a Rat Daddy so I'm family with the handle. Just got an ASH 1 today in the mail. ASH 1 is my preferred handle by far so I'd go with that.

5) Haven't used a Dog Father. Have owned a Rat Daddy. I'd go with the Rat Mastiff because I don't like Res-C.

Id pick ASH-1, preferably LE, cuzz theyre Badass, and cuzz im trying to catch up to Andy lol to keep more of them on this side of the Equator. And theyre great versatile knife, weather you need to cut a car in half, or skin a Squirrel lol

Good idea MtnMan . If Andy keeps buying them the way he was the earths rotation will get a wobble in it from all the extra weight down there ;-)

And congrats on the ASH you scored last night . That's a beauty .

1) Busse SAR 3 - I like the blade shape and handle better.

2) Busse Active Duty - Close to my much loved LMS. I love the shape of the handle.

3) Busse BATAC - Love me some Badger, becasue Busse Badger don't give a S*** !!! :D

4) Busse ASH1 - Count me with Andy on this one. I only have one ASH1 but it makes me stupid happy to hold and use it! Something about that fat FFG blade is just WICKED!

5) Swamp Rat Rat Mastiff - Like the handle better on the Mastif.

Let the picking begin !

Those were some tough choices Mike!

The tough part with this list is that there is really no wrong answer (Except 4 as ASH1 is always the right answer ;) :p ). Your average punter would be well served by either option posed in each case.

That was part of the idea . There really IS not right or wrong answer . After all , all the knives are from the Busse family . It's just to see what people like , why they prefer some over others and what makes some people ^^^ Andy ^^^ like certain ones sooooooo much lol .
