I picked this up on what would be considered an impulse buy, as I only came across them about a week ago. It arrived yesterday and my initial impressions are very positive. Lock up is solid with no play in any direction while still be very slick to open. Centering is off a bit, but nothing to worry about and blade is hair-popping sharp. I'm extremely impressed with its cutting edge length in relation to overall length, as it has more cutting edge than my Small Tanto Sebenza, while having a slightly shorter handle. Love the blade shape as well, even though I'm indifferent towards recurves. If the handles were titanium, it might be my ideal production knife!

Great job, Benchmade!

Mine is one of my fav BMs. It's a really nice small slicer and carries very well. Easy to pull and use in public without setting off anyone's "alarm".

Now I'm kicking myself. If I had thought about trying to get a set of custom scales for my north fork, I wouldn't have sold mine. Looks completely different.

I also had an impulse buy, picking up a New Dan Wesson VBOB 1911; I initially picked up a Benchmade Mono-Lock but came across a North Fork Folder both large and small. The small one they had was the smoothest Axis lock I have ever felt on a Benchmade; so when I got home I had the mono lock and it just sucked, especially that dumb rotating lock stabilizer thingy; I kept thinking about that little North Fork....... Well; I went back and exchanged the Mono-Lock for the North Fork and couldn't be happier; Will be posting a thread with picks later on. I would love to get some aftermarket scales for this little smooth beauty!!

This design has been very smooth and it gets better with time ive had 5 northforks now and all have been so smooth well balenced and I love the way the recurve cuts. No blade play at all once you break them in and adjust the pivot. Keyman is the only one I know who has made scales for these. If you have the g-10 you can dye them if you want a change. Here is a few I did.

It's one of my favorites. I just wish the scales were a little lighter. Other than that I love everything about the North Fork.

Got mine in my pocket right now. I'm really starting to get attached to it. The blade shape and size seems to be just about perfect for everything i've needed. For some reason, this s30v blade is holding an edge alot longer than my 940. I mean alot longer too! I think that's odd being it's the same steel and being used for the same things.
