Pickaxe? Identification

I found this in the yard. Is it a pickaxe head? Hoping to get some more info. Was in a pile of river rock.

Well maybe it was a pick. Or is it a pickaroon?

You have the pick half of a pick mattock. The digger half looks removed and a pickaroon was made.

It's a pickaroon.

NOT a pickaroon, or at least not made as one originally. Pickaroons do not use eyes that large and more resemble a small hatchet eye.

This was either a pickaxe or a mattock that had the opposing bit removed, either purposefully, as a result of damage, or a combination of the two (broken, then modified.)
