Got a note from the post office to tell me a package was waiting. Down I went to collect it and my brand new small Sebenza was waiting for me. Happy days!

My first Sebenza and my first really expensive knife. Now, of course, I can't stop playing with it, opening, closing, opening, closing .... you know how it goes.

For some strange reason it's lighter than I imagined. They look so solid in pictures I sort of had it in my mind that it would be a relatively heavy knife for it's size. Now I keep looking around for things to cut with it.

The knife just reeks of quality and so smooth to open with that nice authoritative locking click. I'm itching to take it apart but I'll reserve that bit of fun for later after I've used it for a bit.

I had a brief moment of disappointment when I didn't find the promised allen key but there it was taped to the lid of the box. Getting blind in my old age.

Anyway, just a meaningless joyful rant from me but I figured you guys would understand.

Welcome to CRK anonymous. Hi I am Wali and I a sebenzaholic :D and you will be too! :p

What do you do for a living? Of course you should get a Mnandi, but you need a one-piece. I like the Sables, great general purpose blades.

Will you guys stop telling me about all these extra knives I need. I'm getting sick of beans and stale bread. I'm going to find myself out in the shed eating the horse feed soon.

(I guess I'll have the right tool to open the bags .....)

Your Sebenza is so sharp, you can cut the beans in half or even in quarters. It's like having lots of extra beans.

I just had a look at some of those, (bugger you Esav), and the Sables do look nice. I also liked the look of the Mountaineers.

Damn ...

Yep, I have a Mountaineer II, and can confirm that it is a very cool knife. On the other end of the scale, the Mnandi is great, too. Come to think of it, all the CRK stuff I've handled has been great.

Enjoy your "first" Sebenza (it's hard to own just one). ;)

Congrats on your small Sebbie. I'm sure you will get many years of enjoyment and service from it. I really love my small Sebbie as well as my Mnandi. Now you (Mnandi) don’t let these guys (Mnandi) put any pressure on you (Mnandi) concerning your next purchase (Mnandi). You hold tight (Mnandi) and get whatever YOU (Mnandi) think YOU (Mnandi) need to get (Mnandi). :D ;)

gajinoz - great first buy! Yes, I totally understand the infatuation. You really need to check out the Mnandi for your small carry. At only 1.5 oz. , it is plenty of cutting power in a light package with a great blade size and shape.

Long after the taste of stale bread and horse feed are gone from your mouth, you will still have those Reeve knives. :) Not a bad trade-off, eh?
