Was wondering if anyone recognises this work. I picked it up as a gift from a friend as a good will jester for a knife I made for him. It has a lot of scroll engraving and engraving on the handle. Hope someone may know something about it. Nothing written on the sheath or knife. Blade is 8 1/2" total langth is 16".

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

This one made me smile. :D I recognize the 'maker' as I own an almost identical copy.

I was always impressed with the craftsmanship and artistry that the worker(s?) put into these pieces. They are made in Indonesia by a group of talented artisians and were marketed on eBay. Realistically, they are not very valuable and although there is a STRONG American flavor to it, it's an import.

That said, your friend's gesture was in earnest, and I think you should enjoy this knife in the spirit it was given.

Here is my knife, and I will admit this was from my VERY earliest digital photo career. (That was from a state of the art 1.2 MP camera...!) You can see why I decided to improve my look. :p
