OK, any of you guys have any experience with INOX, J. Marttiini Finland knives...I picked one up from a local knife store...reminded me of my clippers, so I grabbed it. I took it home and ran it on my strop...scary sharp now. the blade is a little heavier than the Moras, and the handle is very comfortable. So, are they decent...I looked on Ebay, they are going for $30 there...I got mine in a trade with the owner...only have a few bucks in it.
Gene

EDIT..I got 3 knives in the trade..the J.M. and a Glock survival knife, and Becker Necker NIB. I love the Becker, and know the quality is there...BUT...anybody have one of these glocks...seems like a great knife???

Inox Is The Term For Stainless Steel--

Have A Glock Knife--very Well Made For The $

I have a Martini Finland hunting knife somewhere with a rubber handle. It looks like a short filet knife when sheathed but it is thicker blade. Threw it in the bag for a spare on a couple of hunting trips but never used it. It was sharp though. I love my Martini Finland filet knives and have used them with wood and lately rubber handles for years.

Glocks I saw seemed to have a very thick edge. Kinda like a boyonet. A friend of mine says it took him forever to sharpen his, but that was years ago, who knows with yours. Good luck and where are the pics?

I have a marttiini, forget the model. a good light weight but solid knife, handles well and I really like the sheath.Takes great edge but dosen't hold it quite as well as my stainless mora's.Over all Im happy with mine smokey Mt had or has them for around $15.But some of the carbinox models cost quite a bit more.

The only complaint I hear about the glock field knife is its ability to resist taking an edge. :D

I have a Glock that is razor sharp and is easy to keep that way.
It needed a quick run on the Lansky and has been great since.

This is Marttiini's website in English: http://www.marttiini.fi/puukot/shop/english/default.htm

Most Finns have more than enough experience with Marttiini knives. They're pretty much the most common knife you'll find, aside from the el cheapo line of moras. ;) Mass-produced factory knives. Some people swear by them, but I find them only decent at best. The materials used are nothing special, and the quality in general isn't exactly awe-inspiring. On the other hand, the prices aren't bad, and some of them are pretty to look at.

That's the first mora type blade I got when I was a kid. I also have their fillet knife...you know the rapala ones.

Sweet. Martini's are good.

My brother-in-law goes to Finland at least once each year for work. He went recently, and brought back for me a Marttiini Ranger 250. I was very excited for the knife, but was disappointed when I read 'Inox 420' on the blade. 420 doesn't exactly inspire awe as a great user knife steel to me. Perhaps I'm wrong. I had intended on using the Ranger, but it is a very handsome knife - the handle is a nice curly birch (I think) and the blade is polished to a mirror finish (Finnish?). So, I am unsure what to do with it: Pull it out and use it, or just look at it once in a while.

I do have a few other Marttiini knives that I have used with good results. Two of those have carbon steel blades.

I love getting deals like that :) You were lucky to pick up that Becker Necker, they are super rare now and I've heard nothing but great things.

I got mine used...it can shave the hair off my arm no problem..I test all my edges like this...the end result is...I have no hair on my left forearm:D

Marttiini fillet knives with rubber handle are certainly useful knives in wet conditions:thumbup:

The small puukko I have with rubber handle is also OK but the edge is difficult to sharpen, nice sheath though. All in all value for money certainly but not outstanding quality, honest enough certainly.

Good buy. I recall getting my dad one of those a while back. Great knives!
