My first stop was a local sporting goods store, and they had the Leatherman k500x knife marked down. The main reason, besides price, that I bought it was that it seemed pretty robust to use as a work knife. I like the bigger grip as I have pretty big mitts, and the steel is 154CM so the edge should hold up too lots of cutting at work.

Then a quick stop at another local sporting good store I got the BM-Mini-Pika, I just had too have it. I was pretty impressed by the looks of the blade, of course I'm a newby so anything shiny looks good...lol. The handle didn't excite me but it is lite weight and has a pretty nice grip.

Here is a shot of my aquisitions over the last 2 weeks.

I started out just wanting a new knife for work. No I've been bitten and 4 knives later I'm looking at the next buy...either the Spiderco Delica4, or the Native..I'll be ordering this as soon as I make up my mind, but I'm leaning towards the Delica.

The problem is there are so many knives of decent quality, that are priced under $50.00, and they can be had at just about any box store. So now anytime I have a few bucks inmy wallet I'm shopping around for another. Another plus is that there small so easily hidden from the wife:thumbup:

Welcome to knife collecting. Be advised that the bug gets worse and worse. You will love it but your wallet will be screaming for mercy before long.

but I'm pretty new around knives that cost more than $9.99...lol.

Anyways the grip is pretty wide which I like, and is heavier than most of my other knives, but not to the point it's bothersome. It also has a rubber grip, so It has a nice feel. The blade is nicely finished, and pretty darn sharp out of the package. The blade did have a bit of side to side play, but I was able to torque the screws slightly and removed the play. The only other problem is the pocket clip, it is only held on by a single screw so it also has s very slight play. I intend to remove the screw tomorrow and locktite it so it stays put. Other than a couple minor issues, for what I paid, I think I got a nice work knife. It will be my EDC for the next few weeks so we'll see how it works out on the job.
