Took the wife and son to Lynchburg, Tennessee today to eat at a joint called Miss Mary Bobo's. Pretty good eats and a nice, down home atmosphere with family style dining. Good food and good conversation.
But afterwards, we strolled down the road and the first antique shop we hit my son took about 15 seconds to find the knives. There were about five Uncle Henrys in the small display and I asked the lady to let me gander at them. Junior wanted to buy them all, using my cash or credit of course.
I noticed the guthooks and asked to see two models that were identical. She pulled them out and they were factory fresh. No marks on the blades, no pocket lint, and factory grease still filled the joints. Not a mark on them.
The story she told showed me that she knew a little about the Schrade line. She said these were from a collector that never carried his knives. She knew that Schrades were made in China now and was quick to tell me these were USA models.
Went ahead and bought them both. No boxes or papers though. Oh well, a good day trip and a nice find. We didn't have the 877UH model.
