On my way home from work, it's been on my mind since I picked up the new Endura 4 a few weeks ago....... on my way home from work. Both will see pocket time for sure. Comparing it to my older Delica it is much improved, better handle ergos, nice solid feel with the liners adding a bit of heft. I like the new tip and pocket clip. I have to find another way home or go for broke. You can't go wrong with this one.

I was just going to start a new thread on this very topic, but since this one's already here....

My Delica 4 just arrived today.

Wow. Man, for the price, I can't think of another folder that features more for less. I mean, this thing is kitted out with all the desirable qualities that a few years ago would have been unheard of in this price range.

To Sal and crew: Well done. If you think of what must have went into this new design, they really achieved quite a goal. This is no lighly spriced up re-design, this thing is very thoroughly thought-out and very well executed.

I think I've got a new go-to recommendation for the noobs looking for a good quality knife. The fact that it can be had for around 40 bucks is just unreal, IMHO.

The whole knife is excellent, but I love the drilled out liners. Practical, I know, but it looks neat and lends a bit of heft, as was mentioned, that imparts an additional sense of quality that IMHO was lacking from the last gen Delicas. Not that those weren't great folders, it's just this is better. Way better.

I hope people give these 4's a good long look and realize just how nice they are instead of dismissing them as ho-hum run of the mill knives. Huge value to be found here.

I previously thought my Wal-Mart Native was the best buy I'd likely come across. Not anymore. The Delica 4 takes that title now.

It's amazing how Spydeco keeps coming up with such neat blades at such great value. The Delica 4 is unbelievable for the price just as is the Native.

The new Delica 4 is awesome but I really wish they would bring the Caly back with the new Delica style handle.

I have to agree, I never use my Native much, the Enduras and Delicas seem to gravitate to the pocket more than anything else in my collection. The new Delica 4 is indeed a best buy. Nice work Sal and Co.

No one sells that solid a knife with that may features using that good steel.

The new E4 and D4 are best buys for sure.

My buddy is going for a semester abroad in new zealand and he wanted a non-threatening looking "utility" blade for overseas. I pointed him towards an E4 and he couldn't be happier.

im holding off on a delica/endura purchase till the production waved models are out

I got around to taking some pictures today. here is the old and the new.

Fingers crossed for new caly with steel liners and slightly streamlined handle.

While we're wishing about this, I'd like to see it converted over to compression lock as well.

Meh. No thanks. The lock that's on there works plenty fine as-is.

i own about 12 folders.....from $20 to $200.

hands down the delica 4 is my go to knife. its the most well thought out knife i've ever handled.

on another note, its a shame i bought an E3 just last year. i still might buy an E4 anyway!

BTW, with all the posts about s30v chipping out (although none on spydies).........VG10 looks better and better!!

There are posts that mention S30V Spydercos chipping too.

Edge chipping has been my experience with S30V. My Native had a bunch of microchipping, most noticealbly on the plainedge part near the tip, when I first started using it hard. I sharpened the chips out and they haven't come back. Maybe the factory's grinder got the blade a little too hot and now that I'm down "past" that part everything's okay?? I honestly don't know.

I've been lurking here for a long time, reading the posts and trying to decide what I should buy next. I currently have a SS Police PE (which I would love to get the "webbing" etched onto the handle) and a plain, non-mircata old S.P.O.T. (and I'm still not sure if the largest hole on the blade should be filled in with the "spyder-hole" that was rolling around in the box...).

But I wanted an EDC for work (lightweight office work) and also for home/weekends. After much deliberation, I decided on a Delica4 FRN PE for my non-work EDC and a Kopa Cocobolo for work. I ordered them from Grand Prarie Knives after doing some comparative shopping. Delica was $42.50 and Kopa was on sale for $99.00.

I'm psyched to get both of these in a few days! Any comments on my selection? Should I have gotten the Mini Persian instead of the Kopa, or the Kopa in Black Mircata?
