Ok, so I won a gift card to the store "Sports Authority". Was in there shopping for new shoes and found that they were on sale. Sweet, more left on the gift card. I wandered by their knife section just to see what was available and there were the new Half Ton. Done! Sitting right next to it was the pink version of the Gerber Curve mini tool. It was on clearance for around $5! DONE! Wife is happy!

Ok, so thoughts on the Half Ton

The good:

-This knife is a $20 knife at store retail (much cheaper online)
-Locks up cement tight. Seriously. I've seen $100 liner locks with more blade play.
-Came scalpel sharp out of the box.
-I've nicknamed it 'piglet' due to the short stubby design. To be so short and stubby, though, the ergos are really nice. The knife has a really nice feel to it.
-the pocket clip is cute. It's in the shape of a wrench, with the bottom being an actual small hex wrench(didn't measure, don't know what size)

The bad:

Hey Thomas, you do know that lefties buy your stuff too, right? It does have the ambi thumb studs, but a reversible pocket clip, is it too much to ask and would it really affect the cost of the knife THAT much? That's the one weakness I see in the lower price point Kershaws. It isn't a huge deal, but it would be nice to see the "wrong handed" population thought of more often.

Overall, this knife should be mentioned next to knives like the Ka Bar Dozier as a VERY good EDC value. HIGHLY recommended.

I have a Half Ton and I share your enthusiasm.

I'm not quite sure what to think about the wrench shaped pocket clip but my hat's off to Kershaw for doing something unique.

Nice little knife indeed and I recommend it too.
