I believe some have commented on them, but I recently picked up an Emerson Mach 1 on trade. This one's an '04, which surprised me as I thought they stopped making them in '00 (Or changed the name prior to '04).

I've always liked the CQC7's, but don't care for the B's full chisel grind. I prefer the V-grind models, although I do have a '99 CQC7B that I've used considerably & will probably never get rid of it. I had a CQC7A (CE Spear-point), but got rid of it.

I've liked the mini-Commander & the Mach 1's blade shape is similar, but I find the handle on the Mach 1 to be more comfortable & I like the spine shape right above the pivot area.

The clip does sit a little low, so quite a bit of the handle sticks out, but this one is otherwise excellent.

Does anyone know why Emerson put 2 lanyard holes in the Mach 1?

Didn't EKI change it to 'Max 1' for a time?

I believe they did. I read something about Gillette complaining about Emerson using the model name of Mach 1 conflicting with their shavers.

The one I have has "Mach 1" & "2004" on it. I do not know when they changed the name.

I bought one of these awhile back from MDtactical...having been a MACH 1 fan too....I thought this was pretty close. I really like this one!

Ive seen some negative feedback about the Mach 1 from membrs here and around the net.

I cant comment as to its validity but its always been one near the top of my wishlist.

The Mach 1 "looks" like it'd be a great Emerson to own.
