its made in germany, looks like synthetic scales. blade reads "high carbon stainless". Im trying to find info about the blade steel so that i know what sort of edge to go for. going to use the factory edge a bit first.

seems well made , nice and tight fit with no gaps. i am still learning about these knives. they seem like a lot of fun to collect.

one source is saying this blade is 2626AP carbon steel, but cannot find data...

There is no hope for you now!!;):D Welcome to the enablers porch!! Don't know much about Boker but it looks sharp!

The bug is ineradicable and irresistible.
Boker makes good knives.
The Boker subforum might be able to help you with details, though in my experience their wheels turn slowly.

Hello!
No hope, you can't resist the bug. Boker Tree blades are made from C75 carbon steel usually now. But I don't know what could be the material, if your knife is old.

UPD: Sorry, I missed the word "stainless". You could ask Boker directly. They have good customer service.

There is no hope for you now. I can truly attest that the traditional bug, has an incurable bite, with an itch that must be and will be scratched. I've gotten 3 trads in just the past week. 2 months ago I only had 3. Now I've got about a dozen or so.

Since it doesn't say "Solingen" and it's not carbon steel, I think there's a good chance that knife is one of their recent imports.
Still, I'm a big fan of Boker traditionals regardless, and I'm glad to hear the quality is good.
