I'm anxious to get it in hand. The spalting is amazing.

Nice! A friend of mine has one of the first ones Andy made that he bought at Blade. I've been trying to talk him into a deal for a couple of years now.

This one was picked up at The Blade Show. I's not sure of the date but it has "Andy Roy" on the butt of the tang and "Fiddleback" on the spine. I notices his newer knifes have a different marking.

Probably last Blade, maybe the one before. The one I am working on trading for is pre-spalting, but still nice. The spalting on that one is really sweet!

That knife is from Bladeshow 2012. I can tell because it has one of my Bladeshow sheath's with it. ;)

Rob, I'd like to email you, but you don't have that enabled. Would you contact me? wildmanh@yahoo.com thanks!

Thanks for the info Heber! I also figured out how to enable the email feature on my profile! Thanks for pointing out that it wasn't enabled.

Yep. I bet I made a dozen of those maroon/natural handled knives for Blade Show 2012. Its a stunner combo IMO. Cool knife.

After Blade Show 2012 I changed my marking from seperate Andy Roy at the butt and Fiddleback on the spine to Fiddleback by AR. Saved half the time marking. We need a timeline. I like hearing y'all go through figuring out when the knife was made. Thats neato.

Its sitting on my Post Office box and I can't get it out until this afternoon....hmmm Maybe a sick day is in order!

I got the knife today. It came with a Heber sheath which to be honest I thought I wasn't going to like. Its a nice sheath in person for sure. I also have Rick Lowe making me a sheath for the knife. I love Ricks work and can't imagine owning a Fiddleback without some RLo pants.

So I snapped a few photos out of a makeshift photo studio (Bath towel and a canon point and shoot lol)

I have big hands so I was concerned about how it would fit my hand. The Maroon Linen is solid and warm feeling. It is a bit slippery and feels like it could benefit from some texturing. Its my first micarta knife so I only have wood and rubberized handled to compare it to.

I might hand this off to my brother for his birthday. It seems like it would work really well for a hunting blade.

If I decide to keep it I'll put it through some paces and try to snap some photos with the big Canon I have.

NICE!! The one I am trying to trade for is a medium dark wood, maybe cocobolo I'm not sure. I like that maroon micarta a lot though.

Ya know Rob, I never noticed it before, but especially that second pic makes it a look a little like the Skookum. I like it!

If I recall, Joe was influenced some by the Skookum Bush Tool in designing the Terrasaur.

Love that handle configuration. Burgundy & Maroon Micarta develops a real nice color over time.
