I had been a bit reluctant to buy the Spuyderco ATR as I am not overly taken with tip up carry, but I finally decided to do so and saved up the money for it. I then found that the titanium version, the one that I wanted, had been discontinued. I finally found one at Oso Grande Sporting Goods in California and they shipped it to me. I like it a lot. It is, in many ways, very similar to my favorite Spydie, the Terzuola StarMate collaboration, and I love that knife. I like the shiny appearance and the light weight of the Titanium ATR and I really do like the Cobra Hood over the Spyder Hole as well as the holes drilled in the scales that allow for moving the knife around in your hand, I think that it is called "indexing", with great security. I was put off by the sharp edges on the holes at first, but have adapted to them and now appreciate them for their added security of grip. I really like the blade shape and I have so far liked the S30V steel that I have in other knives. It isn't ZDP-189, but what is? All in all, a most satisfactory medium sized knife.
