Picked up an HI Tarwar tonight

Agreed. HI products speak for themselves. A little bit salesmanship isn't a bad thing, but that's a bit bogus.

I wouldn't hold the shipping against him. You do pay shipping from many of the khuk companies. Plus, I have a hard enough time remembering details about some of my khuks, and he's not an aficionado. Good deal none the less. They do find the right homes...

I've got one of those Tarwars; they're substantial -- not entirely unlike a straight-bladed khuk with a handle big enough for both hands if you want. As with the other HI products, length includes the handle, so you're getting a 21-inch blade. It's proportioned and balanced well; I'm sure you'll like it.
