Picked up an odd little knife

I say odd because its seems to be a mish mash of materials and has the strongest spring I have ever encountered in a pocket knife. Its a Wostenholm I*XL two blade jack. Its 3 5/8 inch with a stainless blade and obviously carbon steel main spring due to the corrosion evident. The covers are a beatiful looking walnut?..or some other hardwood. The spring is what I would call the top of the 10 scale for pull and when open, it may be a tad more to close. It may as well be a fixed blade. I have never seen anything like it. It came in the original box and wrapping with the usual I*XL info on it. I think these are from the 70's but I cant tell for sure. Thought I would share.

Pretty cool, Dave. Those covers are gorgeous; does look like walnut. This one looks like it'll be very comfy in-hand, as well.

I think that you are pretty close on the timing. A buddy and co-worker had one very similar that I sharpened for him on several occasions. I can't put an exact date on it, but it would have been late '70s or early '80s that I helped him with it. Of course it might have been brand new then or he could have had it for a few years. I dunno. But it was a very similar pattern to yours and had the I*XL on the blade. Can't recall the handle material other than it was wood of some sort.

Nice find. :)

Cool! I like it!
Mind sending me a PM with some info as to where you got it? That is, if the seller has more...

Nice score Dave, if us like walnut stop on down I just cut up 2 cords of black walnut for firewood, found some nice burl. :)

A lot, if not all, of the Uncle Henry knives had stainless blades and carbon springs. Ugh that was annoying.

Interesting find Dave

Very similiar knives are still being made in Sheffield.
