Anne Reeve was at the table on Saturday and after I'd satiated my lust for Busse blades I had to stop and check out the renowned Sebenza. I was quite pleased, and Mrs. Reeve was very helpful, so I picked up a small regular. It's in my pocket as I type this. Very nice so far!

mikeymoto, CONGRATS! You know you may have started something with this Seb. You may find out that you can't have just one.:D

That polished convexed spine is such a nice touch!

Congrats, you made a wise choice. Let us know when you get your next one. Their addictive. Great pics.

Thanks all!

So you prefer the Reg. thumb cut-out over the Classic version?

I spent a good 10 minutes or so switching between the classic and regular. To me the difference in the blade profile was so subtle as to not matter. My biggest concern was how the knife felt in my hand, and the cut-outs around the thumb stud when the knife is closed were the most significantly different. After much deliberation I went with the regular because it felt most comfortable in my hand with the blade open. :D

I'm already wondering if perhaps I should have spent more time considering the ease with which the frame lock is disengaged; I think maybe the classic was easier to unlock.

Congratulation on your first Sebbie. As far as the lock force, it should be identical but you are likely experiencing the difference between the leverage you get on the lock with the two handle styles.

Be warned though, these things are addictive.
