I went to the SMKWs for rep day Saturday, that place was a madhouse. Most of the times when I go there, it got maybe 100 people, must have been 1200 folks in the building. Did pick up a little swag, a Fire Kit, stickers, and some conversation. Been eyeballin' these thing for a while. I took it out last night, and played with it for a bit. I'm thinking of packing the capsule with Fatwood dust, I gathered about a half pound while I was out yesterday.

I also thought about char cloth and jute twine. Or fatwood matches. There is plethora of choices.

What do ya'll put in yours? I could use some inspiration.

sounds cool, i put dryer lint in mine or cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly.

i have the lint in the regular esee firekit and the cotton balls in the old firekit with the mish metal stick.

either one starts a fire fast and easy.

I put a micro fishing kit in mine with a Sun-brand dry button compass and when I jink the fishing kit in there, I place a single cottonball for tinder and to keep everything compressed and not rattling around. I get four-way redundancy that way, fire (obviously), fishing kit, compass and tinder.

I keep lint from the dryer in mine. Works great. Have yet to try the cotton balls in jelly...
Its a great day out...might go try that now actually.

Right now, I have my small tins seperated into first aid, fishing, fire, and coffee.

For fire, paraphin wax dipped strike anywhere matches-cheaper than the crappy coleman and NATO strike anywheres and I find them more reliable. Petrol jelly cotton balls, jute, fire striker and mini bic are always in there.

First aid, I have some neosporin packets, some 1 inch cotton medical tape, some butterfly stitches, a gauze pad, some ibuprophen, anti-diahreal and lots of benedril.

Fishing, I have various size hooks and jig heads, a colorado spoon, a spinner, a small weight, some plastics and a hock of fishing line (It's impossible to thread 550 chord through most jig heads)

Coffee, I have, you guessed it-coffee. Various tea packets, el cheapo coffee filters for steaping like tea, seasonings and bullion. For seasonings it kinda depends what I'm bringing for food, but usually cinnemon sugar, black pepper, salt, lawry's and some Tony Cherchere's.

All that in your fire kit? Man, you must drink some weak coffee, what space there is in the capsule for coffee, would barely make me a cup. 'Course, if my coffee gets cold, the spoon stands up on its own. :D:thumbup:
