I'm going to buy my first EDC blade. Do you think that $60 fr the S60v blur blem is a good deal. And if it says the grind might be off, what exactly does that mean?

Fark yes. :D Also, a Blur is probably in the top 2-3 EDC Kershaws.

There is a slight wave in the primary grind on the back side...it in no way affects sharpness only a slight cosmetic defect. Mine is crazy sharp.

I'm a "knife noob" but I figured it was a good blade to start off with. I wanted a Damascus Shallot but I don't have confidence to sharpen a recurve blade. How long will the "Kershaw razor blade" sharpness last just cutting cardboard and annoying plastic packaging a couple times a week at the most? I don't need it for anything more than average use and self assurance that if something happens I have the ability to react, because if something bad happens, I don't want to be fumbling with a finger nail hole in your grandpa's folder from yesteryear.

Other than the mentioned wave, they're perfect. It would make a great EDC. Jump on it!

How many do you think he has left? Should I just buy it right now or do you think I could wait? (I have a stubborn mom, that's why for the last week I haven't been able to order it)

I think earlier in the week he had about 175 left. But I don't know how many he started with, and I know they're flying out the door. I would suggest getting one as soon as your mom will allow. Then prove to her you are mature enough to keep it! ;)

It's not that I can't just order, I just want to make sure she's okay with it. I want her to realize that it's not a weapon but she doesn't like the concept. I will order it tonight hopefully. I will post my thoughts when I get it.

EDIT: Just ordered two Blurs about 2 minutes ago. I hope he still has some!

You done good! :D

I have to get the 'rents' permissions for knife purchases as well. You'll love the blur, it was my first quality knife. If you can't sharpen the slight recurve in the blur, Kershaw will do it for free!

If you're like me, you'll get to the point where you can't decide which one to carry. ;)

I just checked evil-bay - one 'B-I-N' for <$71 inc s/h; several stores from $70-$90 + s/h. I lucked into my new S30V Blur last fall 'at a deal' - my other Blurs are 5+ years old - still keepers, even though their 440A steel has needed some sharpening over the years, easily done with the Spydie Sharpmaker. The Blur is a great EDC knife. In defense of my buying a 'blem' - a 1725CB JYDII composite - it is functionally perfect. Enjoy your new Blur.

I pmd kershawguy and sent him an email and hopefully he has some left. His thread on the s60v hasn't seen a lot of action so I'm guessing he should have some left. I can't wait for the mail now.

"The waiting is the hardest part", at least that's what Tom Petty thinks.

You will love that knife when it shows up. Enjoy it, be careful, and bone up on your sharpening skills for that S60V;)

aww man! only $60 for another blur? i wish i had the money right now lol.

def. get it, i got a blur in s30v for my first knife, and fell in love wiht it the minute i opened it.

He hasn't responded to my email (sent last night) yet so I'm hoping he still has 2 left. I'm so anxious. I really want to own one of the Blur blems. I think it has the best colored handle and a very sleek blade but doesn't look intimidating so that's a plus.

Here are the two 1725CBs I recently got - the top is from an evil-bay store and was a shocker of a gift from my wife at Christmas. The bottom is what I 'won' from a different fellow who never indicated it was a 'blem' - insisted it was new. It came bubble-wrapped in the padded envelope - no sheath, box, papers, warranty, etc. Of course - it's 100% functional - and like many of the 'blems' - it is just made of scales that weren't used for full runs. I like the grey patterned G10 better than the rougher black G10. The worst news was that my wife got the 'good' one for less than I paid!

What I am saying is simple - you'll love that/those Blurs - the handles may just be unique, too. The worst thing that can happen to an A/O Kershaw, besides loosing it, is to break the torsion bar - and Kershaw will likely send you free replacement when and if that ever happens (My 5+ year old Blurs, Leeks, & Scallion are still fine!).
