Woke up way too early this morning so was just brousing ebay.

One seller has a Gent model 525 that has a 2004 year stamp with a 2005 NRA etch.

He actually stated that the upside down T is another 2005 stamp as well as the Idaho. Maybe he will answer my email...

Having attended that 2005 NRA convention here in Houston, I picked up a couple of those little 525's. And sure nuff, one has an Idaho and the other has the upside down T.

So then I got to looking for other NRA etched blades and ran across a 2007 NRA etch on an Idaho stamped 120 General.

Just found it interesting that Buck would grab up old stock and slap on an etch for a different year.

I am muddling through the thought process on that from a collectible standpoint. Haven't figured it out yet.

At least my 2005 NRA 119 has the Idaho.... whew....

yeah,,,just some early morning nit picking

That's about as bad as the seller that sold a 1973-1986 301 this week saying it was made in 1950.

I sent them a very polite message explaining that it was not that old, but they let the auction continue until it sold saying it was 1950 made.

I have been known to send the bidders an email...:) I didn't pay enough attention to remember if there are bidders on this one.

Wasn't there an alternative ["offshore"] tang stamp for 2005???

Yes, a T with the bottom point aiming to the right.

Well,,I got a reply and the lady says she has the list.....

I've got the list of year stampings in front of me. The upside down T is 2005, the right side up T is 2004, the T with the the long side to the left is 2006 and the T with the long side tot he right is 2007.

I emailed her back.....and asked her to please go to the Buck website to verify her list... So will see.... Looks like some really wrong list are floating around out there.

The year being etched onto a differently stamped blade doesn't bother me... Heck they might as well use up old stock first ;)

Besides it isn't as bad as when the commemerative 112's were all etched with the 110 folding hunter 25th anniversary etch in 89-91. :D Now they are collectible and command top dollar ;)
