I have settled on the pattern(White Owl). I am tentatively liking the looks of the bocote handles. Is there any negatives to this wood? Does it hold up well etc? Also like the stag handles. Thanks in advance for recommendations etc.

Good choice!

Bocote is a good, hard-wearing wood. I went with stag for my WO and couldn't be happier, though I'll admit the simplicity of ebony has been appealing to me lately and if I was placing an order today I might choose that instead. I don't think there's a "wrong" choice.

Well I ended up getting 2 GEC's instead of just 1. I did get the Tidioute White Owl in Bocote, but also got the Northfield Conductor in stag handles and 1095 carbon. I am a big fan of carbon steel. I hope these GEC's live up to their billings....:)

Very nice choices! Please post pictures when you receive them. I have been eyeing some Bocote for a while now.

Nice -- two is almost always better than one! Definitely post some pics when they arrive.

Good choices there. My ebony owl is about as nice a knife as I've ever carried. I do have to say that I have the bocote owl as a backup in case of loss or breakage and I think it is a prettier knife. The golden/tan color of the handles goes very well with the bolsters and pins. It is gorgeous.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Thanks guys for the comments. I will indeed post a few pics when they arrive. My photography equipment and skills are pretty much limited however. Now I need to decide what I need to cull from the collection to make room for these babies...lol
