Pickle knife!

I have had this knife on my workbench for 2 months now and finally completed it yesterday! Over a month ago I *thought* I finished it only to realize I had switched the liners and the blades wouldn't close😡😡
After taking it back apart, messing up the covers in the process, I left it alone for a month to think about what it did to my fragile psyche.
Yesterday I decided it was time to finish it, and it turned out pretty well. I had to grind down the top sections both blades so they would close without rubbing, and the result is great snap on both blades to go along with a nice 5-6 pull. I added an easy open notch to both blades for easy access. The edges were a little wonky, so I had to do some heavy sharpening but they ended up taking a terrific edge. The donor knife is a Elo from Germany, and the knife is 3.25" closed. I proudly showed my wife the end result, and her comment "it looks like a pickle" gave this knife its name!

Thanks for letting me share!

That turned out really nice. I like the bright green G10. You probably made the right call by setting it aside for a while, because in my experience trying to force myself through something when I get frustrated just makes things worse. In fact, I have a disassembled sodbuster on the workbench right now that I need to get back to.

It's nice Ernie, I like it. Yeah it's gherkin like. What's the material micarta?.

The material is g10 like Danny mentioned:) I wanted to have something a little different from the usual colors you see!
When you finish that sodbuster share it with us please:thumbup:

Really cool, Ernie. The polished g10 looks great. Reminds me a little of a Spyderco Vallotton...

Hey, cool! I like it! Nothing as heart breaking as assembling a knife and then realizing you missed something or swapped springs/blades.

I've never done that, of course... :o

Well done, I've never had the confidence to even think about rehandling a knife.
