I have two Benchmade 650 Spikes with "Boguszewski design" text on the blade, ATS34 satin/polished, with a small section of serrated blade. Both Spikes have the same blade. 4.1" long, very sharp, very pointy!

One has a black handle, with a very polished clip. The other is a matte, light-grey handle with a flat grey-silver pocket clip. I've never seen a pocket clip like this from Benchmade.

So, I've been letting some of my "collection" go and only keeping some. For example, a 1999 Dual action MT SOCOM, a MT mini-Vector (nonauto), and an early MT Ultratech "Urban Camo" with half of the blade fully serrated. Its actually green and black, vs the modern grey and black when we see urban camo from MT, but it has that text on the pocket clip.

IMHO these Spikes are both awesome and and great EDCs (very thin and lightweight). I'm trying to decide how collectable they are... and would it be blasphemous in the eyes of the knife world to split them up. They do make a very nice pair!

Please post your sage comments about this set of twins.

I wouldn't really consider them "twins" unless they had the same number in a limited or first production run. Otherwise, I don't think there's any issue with splitting them up.

They do sound really cool! I always liked the Spike design, sadly it was discontinued long before I got interested in knives.

I really wanted an auto version back when I got the first Spike. Then found another one. The plan was to keep my favorite, but decided to just keep them both, back then. I'll post pics soon.

Never seen a grey Spike or one w/o a BM clip. This model was highly cloned, but also I think BM had some variations. I'm always looking for a Spike since I gave mine to my kid.

Pics posted.

The light gray 950S is called "Clear" by Benchmade and I have the factory box for it with the literature/papers from Benchmade; has "950S" and "Boguszewski" on the box. Its pocket clip is a dull silver color, never seen that clip finish on a Benchmade. Looks authentic.

The black one has a box that it came with "975S" which is not the correct box, but the box is identical to the correct box from the "Clear" spike.

Very cool! The ONE knife I've ever lost was an auto Spike. Some dbag stole it at a party

Glad ya'll are enjoying these beauties! The black one has an opening-action, smooth as butter. The clear one is not as smooth, requires a bit more thumb effort, but not bad at all. Likely needs the allen screw loosened a bit. Hard to believe these are almost 30 years old!

Very very cool. I've never seen the "clear" version before. Thanks for sharing it. I have one on the way. It will be in my hands in two days.... can't wait! Mines not as pristine as yours, but this will encourage me to hopefully carry it.

These vintage Benchmades are pretty sweet.
