I asked at the show about this handle and I believe it was palmwood. I was told it was cut across the end of the grain. He had a large block which gave him this option. I agree it is eye catching. Fred

Hey saint,that wood is black palm.I've used it on a hidden tang knife with the grain running the length of the handle,then cut a spacer with the grain running side to side very cool.
